After much anticipation, Mas Musiq has finally released Lane Yam, his highly awaited Amapiano project with DJ Maphorisa, Daliwonga, Kabza De Small, and other notable musicians.
Mas Musiq became popular on social media in the days preceding the album’s release because of the controversy surrounding his tune Amalanga, which is on the new album. After fans became outraged and saw Samthing Soweto was not given credit, the song became the subject of a heated discussion.
The song’s other featured artist, DJ Maphorisa, came under fire and was charged with taking advantage of the omission. Fans soon discovered, though, that emerging sensation Chley had taken Samthing Soweto‘s vocals after the album’s release.
Fans’ reactions to the modifications in the redesigned Amalanga have sparked even more controversy on social media.
“Mas Musiq and Dj Maphorisa removed Samthing Soweto‘s vocals from Amalanga song. Wake up Mzansi they replaced hun with TO Starquality and Chley. Ow shame , Dj Maphorisa is evil. The song doesn’t even sound the same anymore, all because of greed,” a Twitter user wrote.
